Please arrive 10-15 minutes early for your first class. You will need time to fill out a waiver, pay and sign in. Please see below for clothing suggestions. Please remember to bring water. Please refrain from using lotion before coming to class. If you are under 18, you must have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver for you. You can also choose to print the waiver and bring it in.
What should I wear to an aerial class?
We recommend wearing fitted clothing, similar to what you would wear in a yoga or fitness class. Covered armpits and knees are suggested. The fabric can cause minor burns similar to carpet burn on bare skin. Men can wear athletic shorts over leggings if they prefer. You won’t need any shoes or socks on the equipment. We don’t allow ANY jewelry on the equipment.

An open mind, a willing spirit, and water!
Is there an age limit?
We welcome everyone ages 12+. There is no maximum age. In fact, we encourage seniors to join us.
Who can take classes?
Azure is a place where everyone can feel comfortable. Aerial is both a workout and an art that can be done by people of all shapes, sizes, and ages. Our instructors have experience in taking people who have never lifted their feet off the ground to teaching them how to soar . Our instructors have the experience to help anyone find their wings. You don’t have to be superman or woman to fly!
Aerial Yoga and Gentle Aerials are great classes for building your grip and arm strength in preparation for Aerial Dance classes. While all of our Aerial Dance classes are high intensity, they are also very low impact because you are training in the air. You will get a great workout physically and mentally, and preserve your joints.
We encourage men and women ages 12 and up to have fun and fly with us.
Is it safe?
There is a risk associated with aerial arts, as with any physical activity. That risk increases as you work higher off the ground. That is why we require that you sign a waiver before taking any class; this allows us to talk over the potential risks with you and allow you to make an informed choice. Our instructors are professionally trained and teach with your safety as our first and most important consideration. We work over mats and start low to the ground until you have mastered skills and confidence to fly high. Our facility is designed by engineers to safely accommodate aerial activity and our state of the art dance floor will protect your joints as you train.
What can I do to build up my strength for aerial silks?
A great way to condition for aerial silks is to take aerial yoga classes and cross train with strength training and cardio for endurance.
Here are some of the most helpful exercises to do outside of class:
- Leg lifts and other core strengthening exercises
- Hollow Body exercises
- Pull Ups
- Lat Pull-downs
- Push ups
What is a series class?
Our series classes meet twice a week for 6 weeks. They are designed to take you through a progression of skills and vocabulary in a concentrated amount of time. We recommend trying a series class because you will be surprised and delighted to see how much you can accomplish with regular practice.
Series classes are $150 for the 10 classes. This is the best bang for your buck! Series classes cannot be used for drop-in classes or workshops. If a class is missed there will be no makeup.
How do I sign up?
You can sign up through our website. Click on the class you want to take on the calendar. You can pre-pay and reserve your spot in class. Class sizes are limited. Therefore we do recommend reserving your spot.
What if I need to cancel a class?
Since class space is very limited, we must request the following:
Cancellations less than 24 hours in advance will result in the forfeit of ticket cost.
Cancellations more than 24 hours in advanced will be rescheduled for free.
